Port of Brisbane - GrainCorp & IOR Facilities (Site Tour)
Prior to our May Enterprise Evening in at Parliament House on Monday 20 May 2024, we invite you to join us on an exclusive behind the scenes group site tour to understand how the Port of Brisbane contributes more than $7.8B into QLD’s economy through the supply chain.
On the day attendees will participate in a bus tour of the Brisbane Port facilities, visit IOR’s new Australian import and storage terminal, and conclude with a behind the scenes look Graincorp Operations
As Australia’s largest capital city port, for imported equipment for projects for coal seam gas, renewables and mining sectors, the Port of Brisbane plays a vital connecting role for exporting agricultural commodities like grain and cotton as well as resources including coal. Join Port of to hear how their journey has evolved, and adapted to emerging industries such as wind and solar and understand sustainability targets, they are incorporating making the port one of the most environmentally sustainable port’s in the world.
Guests will also take a look at iOR’s new Australian import and storage terminal, tank manufacturing workshop and their new 5-hectare logistics facility & operations at GrainCorp’s port site.
IOR have recently completed construction Australia’s newest import and storage fuel facility at the Port of Brisbane. This terminal will play a vital role in supporting and increasing Australia’s domestic fuel storage capacity. IOR COO, Drew Leishman will be in attendance, providing tour delegates with an update on the facilities.
GrainCorp operate the largest grain storage and handling network on the east coast of Australia, operating more than 150 regional receival sites and 20 million metric tonnes of storage capacity. We will be joined by;
- Port Operations Manager, Derek Broadfoot,
- Head of Supply Chain, Josh Connell and
- Site Manager, Nitin Mishra.
SITE TOUR ITINERARY
10:00am - Guests arrive at Port of Brisbane Office - 3 Port Central Ave, Port of Brisbane
10:15am - Departs from Port of Brisbane Office
10:30am - Arrival at IOR - Radar St, Lytton / 2 Tanker Street, Port of Brisbane
11:30am - Arrival at GrainCorp Operations - Seafarers Street, Port of Brisbane
12:45pm - Return to Port of Brisbane Office
12:55pm - Light lunch in meeting room/viewing platform and presentation by Port of Brisbane
1:30pm - Proceedings conclude
