A boost for eCommerce businesses

The importance of sharing stories on social media has been highlighted for Western Downs businesses looking to better build their brand online.

Business Navigator Western Downs set up an eCommerce Peer Group which met for the first time on February 24 for a Social Media Bootcamp in Chinchilla.

Business Navigator Western Downs Digital Marketing Advisor, Ailsa Cass said it was fantastic to bring together eCommerce business owners, many of whom are sole operators and don’t get the opportunity to discuss ideas and challenges.

“eCommerce has provided such opportunity for our region which is no longer limited by geography.”

“One thing is for certain in today’s highly competitive online environment, the need to stand out is no longer a nice to do, but a necessity to gain attention and build a connection with your audience,” said Mrs Cass.

Topics covered included social media strategy, content scheduling, defining your audience and many more.

Petunia’s Fashion Owner (Chinchilla), Petrina O’Sullivan said, “the session provided me with some really useful information regarding good governance with sharing and tagging posts and has also given me the confidence to try different things in my storytelling.”

Love Thy Farmer Owner (Dalby) , Melinda Palmer said, “it was great to connect with other business owners and share our experiences and also to better understand the importance of social media as a conversion tool for my business.”

The Social Media Bootcamp was delivered by Content Marketing Agency, Media Mortar.

Business Navigator Western Downs has plans for another two workshops in May and August, 2021.
