Regional produce to star at international ‘foodie’ events
THE most delicious foods from across our region will be showcased on the most prestigious global and national stages next week.
After a Covid-induced hiatus of two years, both the Food Hotel Asia event in Singapore and Fine Food Australia in Melbourne return this year from September 5-8.
And showcasing their incredible produce from this region will be nine local businesses, under the “Regional Queensland Premium Foods” banner supported by the Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE).
“It is really exciting to be supporting these businesses to have the opportunity to co-exhibit at both these events this year,” Justin Heaven, TSBE’s General Manager – Food Leaders Australia, said.
“Due to the closure of domestic and international borders in recent years, we have seen regional Queensland producers disadvantaged in their capacity to create new market inroads.
“By investing in these events, we are solidifying our region’s capabilities in food-service, retail, and premium end hospitality to actively pursue new sales and generate strong leads.”
Hundreds of food industry professionals – both from across Australasia and internationally – participate in the events each year, and up to 60,000 people will visit the Food and Hotel Asia event each day.
This year they will have the opportunity to sample and learn more about the region’s foodie superstars, including Barambah Organics, Inglewood Organics, Jimmies, Grazers, Killa Pure Foods, Four Daughters, Grassland Goats, Mort & Co, GF Oats, and Clayton’s Organic Beef. Each of these businesses will more than hold their own against the very best the country can offer.
Molly Wagner, Trade and Market Development Coordinator with the TSBE Food Leaders Australia group will accompany representatives from each of the local businesses to Melbourne, while Mr Heaven will hold the fort in Singapore.
“We have such a diverse group of businesses representing poultry, red meat, dairy, organics, and packaged products,” Ms Wagner said.
“We are excited to be showcasing each businesses product range through multiple live cooking demonstrations throughout the four days, enabling attendees the opportunity to taste our region’s premium food.”
During the four-day events, thousands of the latest ingredients, equipment and ideas in the food industry will be showcased with multiple co-located events and content stages, and hundreds of demonstrations and masterclasses.
At Fine Food Australia, TSBE will host a celebration of regional produce for food service each day in the Culinary Federation theatre kitchen.
