Words Out West: Western Downs Readers & Writers Fest
Words Out West: Western Downs Readers & Writers Fest is the first literary festival from Western Downs Libraries and Western Downs Regional Council. Held in Dalby and surrounds from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 February 2020, expect a buffet of activities for readers, writers and lovers of words, big and small.
Think words aren't your thing? Think again.
We know that sometimes Writers Festivals can seem a little stuffy, so Words Out West is taking a different approach. We're not just interested in words that sit on a page, but words that do — words that inspire, words that uncover, words that excite, and even words that teach you how to bake a cake.
That's why the Western Downs are hosting a stellar line-up of local and national talent in the word-ing realm, including Kurt Fearnley, John Marsden and Fleur McDonald. And we're not stopping there — with a Writers Retreat, School Day and Gala Dinner, there's something on the program to suit every literary taste.
