Join us in celebrating the remarkable First Nation women in small businesses and their vital contributions to Queensland's economy and communities. With over 482,000 small businesses representing 97% of the business sector and contributing approximately $117 billion to the state's economy, their impact is immense.

Torita Blake | Brisbane 2032
Torita Blake has defied the odds her entire life.
At just weeks old she survived severe injuries from domestic violence with doctors doubting she would live. That was 23 years ago.
Today Torita is a two-time Paralympian and one of Australia’s most promising Para-athletics talents.
A proud Indigenous woman from the Dunghutti people she was inspired by Cathy Freeman’s gold medal run at the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Twelve years later Torita had her own full-circle moment making her Paralympic debut at the London 2012 Games. At Rio 2016 she came agonisingly close to a medal in the women’s 400m T38 finishing fourth after racing strongly against competitors with full vision — despite her own vision impairment.
Selected for the 2019 World Para-athletics Championships Torita was forced to withdraw due to injury but remains focused on returning to competition and pursuing future Paralympic success.
