MBS Billing Education Session

This workshop has been developed to provide General Practitioners, registrars, practice managers, and other primary health professionals across the region with practical and authoritative guidance on MBS billing.
The program will include a dedicated session on MBS billing delivered by Better Billing: A Medicare Billing Course, featuring guest presenter Ash Van Leeuwestyn from BetterBilling.
This workshop is supported by Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN.
ABOUT ASHLEY:
Dr Ashley Van Leeuwestyn is a General Practitioner and the founder of BetterBilling, a Medicare education platform created to help GPs, practice nurses and practice managers make sense of Medicare billing without the stress, confusion or fear.
Ashley works clinically across general practice, aged care, veterans’ health and outreach settings, and teaches Medicare from the perspective of someone who is actively doing the work - juggling full clinics, complex patients and real-world time pressures. She’s particularly known for explaining Medicare in plain English, busting long-held billing myths, and helping practices confidently claim what they’re already doing (without feeling like they’re “pushing the limits”).
Through BetterBilling, Ashley delivers Medicare education seminars, online courses and practice-based consulting across Australia. Ashley is an RACGP-accredited CPD provider and a passionate advocate for sustainable general practice. She firmly believes that good billing supports good patient care, and that clinicians shouldn’t have to feel anxious every time they submit a claim.
When she’s not teaching Medicare, Ashley is balancing clinical work, business life, and life as a mum — which is exactly why her education is designed to be realistic, efficient and immediately useful.
