Fuel supply disruptions and price volatility continue to place significant pressure on businesses across our region. Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) is actively supporting and advocating for our members to ensure fuel security and regional connectivity remain a priority for decision‑makers.
TSBE acknowledges the Queensland Government’s Fuel Security Roundtable held today, which brought together stakeholders from industry, agriculture, business and transport to discuss fuel supply challenges and the need for nationally consistent approaches. These discussions, alongside the establishment of the National Fuel Supply Taskforce, highlight the seriousness of the issue and the urgent need for coordinated short, medium and long‑term solutions.
TSBE welcomed the Queensland Government’s focus on accelerating solutions such as increased on‑farm storage, onshore refining capacity and the role of biofuels in strengthening fuel resilience.
TSBE is advocating directly with government and key stakeholders on behalf of our members, reinforcing the importance of protecting fuel access and ensuring regional businesses are not disadvantaged by ongoing fuel supply disruptions.
To strengthen this advocacy, we need to hear directly from you. Your insights help us demonstrate real‑world impacts and ensure regional voices are represented in policy and investment discussions.
Please contact TSBE or complete our survey so we can advocate on your behalf and continue pushing for solutions that support regional Queensland businesses.
We have already been in contact with a number of members and thank those who have shared feedback on how these challenges affecting their businesses.
Together, we can ensure fuel security challenges facing our region are clearly understood.
