TSBE Annual General Meeting: Celebrating Achievements and Welcoming New Leadership

The Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) board celebrated another year of regional achievement handing down an annual report covering an unprecedented $28.2billion regional development pipeline, and a renewed strategic focus.

The board welcomed the appointment of two new directors at the Annual General Meeting on 17 October 2024.

Stephen O’Brien and Blair Batts have joined the board, with Ian Macfarlane and Tom McVeigh taking their leave from the group after both serving for six years.

TSBE welcome the new directors and expresses gratitude to Mr Macfarlane and Mr McVeigh for outstanding service and dedication to the organisation and the regions in which we operate over many years.

In August, it was announced that Dr. John McVeigh would assume the role of Executive Director of TSBE, overseeing operations from 28 October 2024. John is an experienced campaigner and highly respected leader in our community.

April Cavanagh, who has held the roles of Director and Acting CEO over the past year, will transition to the position of the first female Chairman of TSBE, effective 17 October 2024, following her election at the AGM. April brings dynamic executive experience with a strong focus on leadership and governance, qualities that will continue to benefit the organisation into our next exciting chapter.
